Thai Food For Health

0 commentaires

Natural health is about self discipline and responsibility for a better life. And with nutritional supplements, you will be able to achieve this level of healthy comfortable living .

It just takes that first step. A Thai Food balanced diet is a Topic I really enjoy telling people about fighting diet problems, weight control, heath in general, even allergy conditions like me. I will touch on this latter.

There are many products available in the field of natural health . Pick up a book, surf online, educate yourself about the right foods for your health. I did, and cut my stress level by 50%; reduced my blood pressure down to 120/70, when under stress it was 150/95.

Not bad for middle age. Natural health is about finding ways to be healthy. With natural health nutrition, like say, Thai Food , you get the extra benefit of giving your body all the best there is from nature, which is a great feeling, and reward when you experience the difference, and ask yourself, how come I did not do this along time ago. What an energy booster indeed.

You will also find good nutrition leads to good health. I would get the typical once a year cold, like most people. Now I might get a cold, over 2 year periods . That should say something for good healthy nutrition. I do not believe there is a magic pill or fix all solution, but this certainly made a great change for me, and established a constant platform for my overall health.

You will experience the new you and will be proud of the achievements you will have from taking care of yourself. Now, no promises, but my weight is stable at 180lbs, exactly the same as when I was 18 years, when body building. I was usually around 200lbs., under hi stress working conditions. I am not outlining a diet plan, in fact the things I am mentioning worked for me regarding health overall.

The drop in weight actually happened as a result of better eating habits, an adjustment to things that helped, like the natural supplements, and Thai food in general, and reduction in obvious things that do not help. I knew with a stressful job, lots of traveling, something had to be adjusted, or shifted a bit. I even cut coffee down to 2 cups a day, I did not need 6, come on that is crazy, what was I thinking ?

So one noticeable thing I really enjoy, is the boost in energy for my age. It did take more than that, and I am going to give you a super important tip. Like anything, take small steps, and you will meet your goals. So here is the super tip that worked for me; simply get off the Dairy Products.

I have traveled to so many countries; with all types of foods, and certainly the western foods are spreading everywhere. So from experience alone, think about my tips to you.

Tip number two, not only do I use natural supplements for many reasons, here is a tip that really jump started me : go try Thai food, at a local restaurant.

This is an experience that will jump start your health in general. The reason I say Thai food, is simply there are so many types, you will find something you like, that is why Thai restaurants are so popular everywhere, world wide. And they have unique spices, and sauces that seem to please many people, offering new flavors, less saturated fats.

I did move to Thailand, so an expert in the foods section, and I have tried them all country wide. Believe me, you may have heard, how spicy Thai Food is, but actually there are in fact so many things to choose from, you will find something healthy, natural, and satisfying in all aspects.

That was tip no two, go out and try it, you will be surprised. Typically you will not find cheese in Asian dishes, however you may find coconut, or sweet milk, and similar things to sort out when you order food.

A third , but important tip, something I do every morning, and what an energy booster, I drink 12 oz. of grape juice per day. It beats coffee, but I still like my morning cup, but the juice really gives me a morning boost in my diet. Ok, that is tip no. three, simply try different things that work for you, that you enjoy, and watch out for the pizzas. Cutback on cheese, milk, ice cream. Select your food in moderate quantities.

I hope you found this as valuable information, based on my own personal experiences. Being middle age, time and health become more sensitive in life, and if you are truly out to improve you health, just take a few tips for starters. A slight shift in your nutrition can really improve your overall health. Get started today, its never to late!

Eggs – Benefits of Eggs

0 commentaires

Eggs are one of the main staples in many bodybuilders’ diets. Not only are possibly the best source of natural protein with a high biological value (88% of the protein being absorbed and utilised by the body). They are also a lean source with little fat – though the yolk does contain some meaning that you may prefer to do away with the delicious yolk. This is actually a mistake however as only when combined together do they contain all 22 amino acids essential for building muscle. The truly extreme bodybuilders sometimes go one step further and eat the actual egg shells too. Hey, it’s your throat…

Of course for muscle building you’ll be advised to eat them raw which means they contain more essential nutrients and protein. Don’t worry too much about Salmonella, while that may sound like awful advice, it does come from sound statistics. Just one in every 30,000 eggs produced each year is likely to be infected with salmonella, which is equal to a loooow .003%. That’s a pretty low percentage, hardly like eating puffer fish. Furthermore, most of the infected eggs cases will be from battery hens, and free-range eggs that have been tested for salmonella are incredibly safe. For some people that might still seem a bit close for comfort, but even then you should realise that most cases of salmonella are mild and can be treated with antibiotics and only very few are serious. So stop whining; Rocky does it and surely that should be enough reason! (Although Rocky also chases chickens around and you should not do that – it’s kind of cruel.)

Though technically better however, for me though, eggs are only a close second as protein sources with tuna coming in at umber one. Eggs are high in cholestrol and so to eat a lot of them might not be the best ever for your heart and blood pressure, especially if you already have problems in that area. Secondly they don’t have all the other advantages of tuna which also has a lot of antioxidants, omega three and fish oil while egg white is mostly just water with a bit of protein. Cooking eggs also wastes some of the protein, and while eggs are normally a versatile food source there’s not that much you can do with raw egg whites (tuna meanwhile is versatile and delicious). Hence I present you with you something that you can do with your eggs while keeping them almost raw.

A quick recipe: Carbonara Old Style

Carbonara is an Italian pasta dish that was designed to make use of limited amounts of food. Today though it’s a delicious meal that’s been evolved to include cream, cheese, bacon and all sorts of other tempting but not particularly healthy things (you should come round and try mine some time it’s heavenly – angel dust in a dish). Originally though it was simply one raw egg cracked over the pasta with the idea being that the pasta would be hot enough to semi-cook the egg. For muscle building this is a great recipe – high in protein and carbs and low in fat. It should still eliminate any traces of salmonella too meaning it’s safe for even the most cautious.

Top Five Foods to Eat for Good Health

0 commentaires

Eating is one of my favourite pass-times. Actually scrap that, eating is my favourite pass-time. It’s fairly easy, anyone can do it, but most importantly it’s delicious (most of it anyway, not sprouts obviously, but even they have their place - all food deserves the same love and attention). Then of course there’s the whole ‘health’ thing…

Picking healthy foods however does require a bit more discrimination and some are certainly better for you than others. Some are downright bad for you, but others hit multiple buttons providing your body with a host of essential nutrients. Here are a few top picks.

Tuna

Tuna is the number one health food as far as I’m concerned - it’s high in Omega 3 fatty acids which are great for your brain and cognitive abilities. It’s also an oily fish so great for joints and highly recommended if you have arthritis or joint problems (gym goers can also benefit from oiling up the joints). Furthermore it’s a fantastic source of lean protein helping you pack on the muscle. The only slight downside however is that tuna is high in mercury which pretty much makes me a human thermometer. Mercury itself is not toxic but the compounds it makes are. Don’t worry though, you’d have to eat ridiculous amounts for it to be a problem.

Apples (and oranges)

Apples are full of vitamins, particularly vitamin C. Vitamin C is so essential that it’s developed internally by most mammals with humans being one of the few exceptions. A deficiency can cause scurvy and it’s almost important for the immune system protecting against colds and other illnesses. When we train in the gym we lose vitamins through sweating so it’s important that we replace them as soon as possible. Apples are also one of your five-a-day, which is highly important especially as five is probably an underestimate of our requirements. In the wild we’d have survived largely on nuts and fruits and we should probably really be consuming more like seven portions of fruit and veg a day.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are a fantastic source of antioxidants, which can prevent cancer and increase your life span. Oxygen is actually damaging to your cells causing them almost to rust, which in turn leads to eventual death. It’s a natural process but if you want to live for longer anti-oxidants can slow it down. Unfortunately they’re highly acidic and can exacerbate skin problems such as acne.

Green Salad

Green salad is extremely low in calories and high in just about everything else your body requires - iron, calcium, fibre and vitamins. Iron is key in the body’s development of haemoglobin, which transports oxygen around the blood and myoglobin which is found only in muscle tissue. Contrary to popular belief Spinach is not massively high in iron, this myth actually came about after someone a misplaced decimal point giving it 10 times the iron!

Greens are also a portion of veg, unfortunately they’re boring as anything and you’ll feel like a rabbit munching away on them.

Bananas

Bananas are a brilliant and healthy source of carbohydrates and so energy. Again they’re one of your five a day so they make an amazing pre-workout snack. Even better they’re high in potassium which can prevent cramping and dropping barbells on your neck and decapitating yourself on the bench.
